Apples Stuffed with Sweet Almond & Ginger Stuffing recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 30 minutes

This easy dessert makes use of a delicious ingredient - crystallised ginger and ginger syrup. Apples are stuffed with ground almonds, chopped stem ginger, butter and sugar. Use the stuffing to stuff any fruit you like or serve on top of ice cream.


  • 4 medium apples
  • 3 tbsp. ground almonds
  • 2 pieces crystallised stem ginger
  • 2 tbsp. stem ginger syrup
  • 1 tsp. caster sugar
  • 1 tsp. butter


  1. Wash and dry the apples. Remove the cores.

  2. Combine the almonds, sugar and butter and use to stuff the apples. Dice the ginger and top the apples with it, then sprinkle with ginger syrup.

  3. Bake in a 210C oven for 25-30 minutes until cooked through and tender.

Use ground hazelnuts or any other ground nut if you do not like marzipan. Recipe serves 4.
